Mark Steven Crouse, entrepreneur, independent artist, and designer of salmon and steelhead rods has designed fishing rods since the age of twelve where he lived with his mother in Munich Germany. After spending years perfecting and specializing in the craft of rod building he relocated to the United States where he now customizes, presents and sells an exquisite rod used primarily for Carp and Steelhead fishing.
Marks' craftsmanship in applying thread art to rod building has become nationally known through Fly-Fishing and Rod Building Shows around the world. He is the single "Western World" craftsman to present his art in the 2001 Japanese Thread Art Design Fest and one of the top ranking craftsman in the knowledge of Steelhead fishing rod design. In collaboration with a team of rod builders from around the world, Mark, was one of the Rod builders, who designed the "Global Rod", which was crafted specifically for the 2006 Fly Fishing and Rod Builders Show held in Charlotte, NC.
Mark's artistry carries an element of traditional weaving, which was a common skill Irish Immigrants brought with them to America, but the rich hand woven inscriptions (each specifically designed for the individual purchaser) are a trademark of Mark's dedication and passion to the craft.
